Dr. Andrew Chong obtained a degree in Arts and Science from McMaster University before going on to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in Guelph. Upon graduation in 2017, Dr Chong joined the rotating internship program at the VEC. It was during this internship that he discovered a passion for cardiology.
Dr. Chong went on to complete a cardiology specialty internship 2018 before returning to the OVC to undertake a residency in cardiology. During his residency, he also completed a Doctor of Veterinary Science (DVSc) degree evaluating novel biomarkers in feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Dr. Chong is board certified in cardiology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is excited to return to the VEC and join Dr. Colpitts and the cardiology team to provide care for patients in the Toronto and surrounding area.
