Dr. Krista Mitchell graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Upon completion of her DVM, Dr. Mitchell pursued an interest in large animal medicine – completing an internship in equine surgery at the Milton Equine Hospital in 2013 and a large animal and surgery internship at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 2015.
Through practicing small animal medicine for a year at the Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Sarnia, Dr. Mitchell discovered a passion for veterinary anesthesia. She went on to complete a residency in anesthesia at University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019, passing her Board exams and becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia that same year.
Dr. Mitchell began her practice as a Specialist Veterinarian in Anesthesia at OVC, supervising the anesthesia of small animal, large animal and exotic patients as well as participating in research initiatives and teaching 4th year veterinary students, interns and residents.
When she is not practicing medicine, Dr. Mitchell enjoys all the city has to offer and an active lifestyle including water sports, CrossFit and hiking the various trails around the GTA and beyond.
