Dr. Madhi Haghighat graduated from veterinary school in 2006 and obtained his North American Veterinary
Medicine certification in 2015. He co-founded a small animal practice in Toronto in 2016, where he provided comprehensive medical care before pursuing advanced internship training in emergency and referral medicine.
Following his one-year internship training at VCA Emergency and Referral Hospital, Dr. Haghighat developed a strong interest in managing complex dental and oral surgical cases. This experience inspired him to complete a three-year residency in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery in Maryland where he received advanced training in diagnosing and treating oral and maxillofacial cases in companion animals.
As part of his residency, Dr. Haghighat conducted research on the use of Cone Beam CT imaging for the diagnosis of otitis, reflecting his commitment to advancing patient care through innovative diagnostic techniques and evidence-based medicine. He is a member of both the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Haghighat is passionate about helping pets live healthier, more comfortable lives by relieving pain and restoring oral health. He values building trusting relationships with families and believes that compassionate care is just as important as clinical excellence. Outside the clinic, he enjoys keeping up with advances in veterinary dentistry, spending time outdoors with his family, and hiking with Choco, his energetic Chihuahua, as well as playing and watching soccer.
